"Design In Motion" - The Virtual Tour

What if you were to take "Dinner Impossible", "Extreme Make0ver - Home Edition", and "Meet the Fockers" and blend them all into a new Design show concept? The results - "Design In Motion"(Copyright © 2008 Hilsabeck Design Associates, Inc. All Rights Reserved).

This vision I had in 2008 has slowly started to become more of a concept I really want to pursue; however, given today's economical tough times with the cost of gas and the home improvement industry almost coming to a screeching halt, I thought I would take Designer Baby steps in the meantime.

Keeping my "eye on the prize" and waiting for the floodgates to open soon with new clients coming from everywhere, I thought I would take my vision to a different level and see what you, the general public and also potential clients thought of the "Design in Motion" concept?

OK, here is general concept for this new reality TV show:

Each week I would get in my Environmentally Friendly Tour Bus (running on sustainable fuels and solar power) and find in my seat an Envelope with my next "mission". Once opened, I would receive all the pertinent information about my next client, their job scope, and the location along with photos of the "existing" space I was to design. Once the tour bus was turned in the right direction and on its way, I would get settled into my Design Studio and work on the project via my laptop in establishing the new concepts for my clients' space.

After the initial concepts were completed, I would email them along with having a client review meeting via Skype, etc. to come to the Final Design Concept. Once established, I would then complete the working drawings and email them off to the Contractors on site to begin the remodel. Again, via Skype, I would "tune in" on a regular basis and see how the progress was coming along as well as work virtually with my clients in helping them make product and finish selections.

The "Design in Motion" Tour bus pulls up to the clients house for the big reveal. I step out and do my best Michael Payne (from HGTV's "Designing for the Sexes") impression and knock on the clients door. Once inside, I see the final outcome and chat a bit with the client about what their existing issues were and how through Design they were able to be resolved. I would say my goodbyes and get back on the bus where my next "mission" was sitting on my seat waiting for me to open.

Now since you have a pretty good "picture" of what the actual show concept is, here is what I am wanting to do in the meantime....

I still want to keep the show concept in tact; however, until I get a Tour Bus, Sponsors, etc. I am wanting to produce this concept in the "Virtual World" via Skype and Emails from those potential clients across the country and even beyond. I am needing you, the general audience and your feedback so I can see if this is something that is truly desired and wanted.

Once I receive a good amount of feedback, I will then keep you all posted with updates and since I know this is going to be a success, will start developing the first phase of "Design In Motion" - The Virtual Tour....Thank you all in advance.

Take Care,

Alan
